Nahuatl Philosophy

As a Nahuatl Culture professor, I co-founded the Nahuatl University in Ocotepec, Morelos, Mexico. I designed the campus in the form of an ancient ceremonial center with four pyramid-like structures. Here I developed a curriculum and taught during 13 years. I learned a great deal from healers and indigenous teachers, I was involved with the community and important work was with children of Ocotepec, in an annual festival teaching them dances and poetry in the Nahuatl language. I did much research in the calendar systems and mythology of the Nahuatl people. Also, this translated into drama, important plays done for indigenous villages. The studies in ancient philosophy led me to co-author the book I did with William Horden, “Toltec I Ching.” This has bloomed in many ways: readings, workshops, and an important new path as a spiritual guide.
